How the IPL Points Table Works

In IPL 2026, each win earns a team 2 points. A loss gives 0 points. If a match ends with no result due to rain, both teams receive 1 point each. When teams are tied on points, Net Run Rate (NRR) determines the ranking. NRR is calculated by subtracting the runs conceded per over from the runs scored per over across all matches.

IPL 2026 Playoff Qualification

The top 4 teams on the IPL 2026 points table at the end of the league stage qualify for the playoffs. The 1st and 2nd placed teams play Qualifier 1, with the winner going directly to the Final. The 3rd and 4th placed teams play the Eliminator, with the winner facing the Qualifier 1 loser in Qualifier 2.
